no i think theres actually less ram usage if you turn hide the desktop

y would it use up ur RAM tht dosnt make sense

from past experiences and when i use a utility to refresh icon cache youll see how much it lags when it does it. then i used the same program (FAST DEFRAG) when i turned the desktop off and it didnt have to rebuild cache

and yes serial is using windowblinds

When you are playing a game that has a different resolution than your normal settings every time you minimize the game or exit it your icons have to reload with the new resolution setting. Sometimes it takes a good 10 seconds and it's just kind of annoying. I keep my icons off because that way they don't block the background. I have all my icons on the bottom half of my toolbar. I could even have my toolbar disappear when I don't need it and when my mouse goes to the bottom of the screen it pops back up but it takes a couple seconds to do so, so I don't use it. Idk, I like my setup.
